PD CONTEMPORARY Loft Hatch

Super service & reliable!

I replaced a previously acquired version of this as the original was irreparably damaged by an operative who was descending from a loft ladder. This arose because the fit, whilst good, is tight because the insulation protrudes a fair bit (which is not a bad thing for the insulation properties) and it fouls on the top step of the loft ladder. This is a typical condition, so my suggestion would be to cut a wedge of the insulation at the hinge end to create more clearance. I did this on the original, but having used the thicker insulation variant, it was 'even worse' and still risked damage. I used the 100mm veraitnt to replace the busted one, which was better but is still not quite right. Great product otherwise, and very good service. Still think it's a bit flimsy TBH though.

Having fitted a few of these hatches I can say they are perfect for the larger opening of 760mm. A slight downside is they are a little \thin\ feeling. A good price fast delivery and really easy fit gives a 5 star rating.

Good product came with no hassle. Easily fitted and seals apart from rear do their job. (rear seal onto door a bit clumsilly fitted and deformed). Many other hatches the doors can be removed when fully open so expanding the hatch opening fully. The 100mm of foam insulation reduces the opening to about 620mm. No instructions as to how to do this included. Apart from blemish from moulding in the middle of the door the frame and door were of good construction. Particularly liked the flexing back of the frame fixing tabs.

Large opening hatch, but insulation thickness needs attention to add a fitted, fixed loft ladder. Product was easy to install. Prompt service with Jupiter Blue but arrived after courier delay (last address on delivery at end of business day, so pushed back to next day). Other than that the product does the job. If you want a more thermally insulative hatch, you'll reduce the opening size of the hatch.

The product arrived promptly, well packaged and undamaged. WE did ask for delivery to be delayed by one day and you agreed. That did not happen and our long-suffering neighbours took it in. But the important thing is that we got what we paid for and are very happy

Easy to fit hatch with a good level of insulation. These hatches are also quite large for a standard range.

These are great hatches, easy to fit, good depth of insulation and quite large for a standard hatch.
