Commercial Access Ladders
Commercial access ladders provide fixed vertical access to roofs, plant areas and maintenance platforms in commercial and industrial buildings. They're installed to let engineers and maintenance staff reach roof hatches, rooftop plant and service areas — a strong, reliable climbing route where a full staircase would be costly or impractical.

Where a space would otherwise need an expensive staircase, a commercial access ladder gives a strong, reliable route up. That's their whole job: to be extremely robust and dependable while still easy to climb. We offer three designs to suit different layouts — the double-section hinged ladder, the double-section hook-on ladder, and the space-efficient concertina ladder.
Load ratings and standards
The double-section ladders meet BS 7553 Class H with a 150kg load-bearing capacity, while the Zedfold concertina ladder conforms to DIN 4570 with a substantial 200kg capacity per tread. Depending on the model, our commercial ladders are designed to recognised standards including EN 14975:2006/A1:2010, DIN 4570 and BS EN 14975 — always check the product specification for the exact standards a given ladder complies with.
Bespoke, made to your building
Our double-section ladders are bespoke: we manufacture them in 7–10 working days to suit any height up to 5m. Ordering is simple — we just need the floor-to-floor, floor-to-ceiling and hatch opening dimensions. Because bespoke ladders are non-refundable, we email a dimensional drawing for your approval before we build, which removes the chance of error and means you get exactly what you need. Each ladder arrives ready to install, with all the fixings and fitting instructions included.
When to choose commercial
Commercial ladders are the answer where a floor-to-floor height exceeds 3m, where there's limited stowing space, or simply where a ladder faces regular daily use in a workplace, factory or warehouse. Unlike a residential loft ladder, they're built for higher loads and frequent, professional use. Note they're intended for indoor environments — lofts, storage areas and industrial spaces — rather than outdoor exposure to the elements.
