2 Hour Fire Rated
2-hour fire rated access panels are independently tested to hold back fire for a full 120 minutes — the highest duration in our range. They're specified where a compartment or escape route has to resist fire for longer, giving maintenance access without weakening a critical fire barrier.
Every panel here is tested to BS EN 1634-1; for shorter durations see the full fire-rated range at 60 and 90 minutes, part of our wider access panel range.

What "2 hour" (120 minutes) means
The rating is the length of time a panel is tested to hold back fire — here, a full 120 minutes. Every panel in this range is independently tested to BS EN 1634-1, and many are tested from both sides (duplex) so they perform whichever way the fire comes. It's the longest-duration option we offer, above the 60- and 90-minute panels.
When you need 2-hour
The building's specification or Building Regulations decide the rating required, based on the compartment, its purpose and the level of protection needed — higher-risk or longer-duration compartments, certain escape routes and some building types call for 120 minutes. If your drawings or spec don't state it, confirm the requirement with your local Building Control before ordering, rather than assuming.
Formats, sizes and delivery
Choose a picture frame (surface-mounted) or a beaded frame (plastered in for a near-flush finish), in standard stock sizes or made-to-measure for non-standard openings, with riser doors available for larger access. Most sizes are in stock with free next-working-day delivery, and every panel is fully guaranteed.
