Solid Lid Roof Hatches
Solid lid roof hatches provide secure roof access where you need a durable, weather-tight opening. Typically fitted to commercial buildings, they give safe access to rooftop plant, ventilation equipment and service areas.
Manufactured from aluminium or steel, they maintain the weather protection of the roof while providing a reliable access point for maintenance and inspection work.

eather-tight, and built to last
A solid lid roof hatch is designed to keep the roof weathertight while giving a dependable way up onto it. Key features include weather-protected push-button handles, counterbalanced compression springs with a hold-open arm, and integral flashing for a properly weatherproofed opening. It's a robust, no-nonsense hatch suited to the demands of commercial rooftops.
Aluminium or steel
There's a choice of material to suit budget and priorities. Aluminium hatches are lighter and naturally resistant to corrosion — a good pick where weight or long-term weathering matter. Steel hatches are more cost-effective and are supplied primed, though they need painting on site to get the best durability. Both are built for strength and longevity.
Insulated to 0.43 W/m²K
Thermal performance is a strong point: our solid lid hatches are insulated to an industry-leading U-value of 0.43 W/m²K, so they help maintain the building's energy efficiency rather than becoming a weak point in the roof's insulation.
Safety and customisation
Safety is built in — counterbalanced lids, gas springs and hold-open arms make the hatch easier and safer to open and close, reducing the risk of injury during routine access and maintenance. And where a standard won't quite fit, the hatches can be customised, with different sizes and colour finishes to sit seamlessly within the building design.
