The Loft Hatch Opening Pole is a lightweight and strong accessory designed for the safe, ground-level opening of compatible loft hatches and the controlled lowering of loft ladders.
Construction & Operation:
• Construction: Fabricated from durable box section aluminium, providing a lightweight yet strong solution for ease of use.• Dual Functionality: The pole engages the hatch lock via a 9mm trianglular insert and features a handy hook specifically designed for safely reaching and lowering compatible loft ladders.
• Limitation Note: This pole is NOT compatible with the Key Lock option on any loft hatch range.
Compatibility Guide:
• AT Airtight Loft Hatch: Compatible with the 640mm x 560mm size, Standard lock option only.• PD Loft Hatch: Compatible with the 760mm x 560mm size, Standard lock option only.
• SD Fire Rated Loft Hatch: Compatible with sizes from 550mm x 550mm up to 900mm x 600 mm, Budget lock option only.
• LT Laddatrap Loft Hatch: Compatible with the 720mm x 560mm size.

I ordered this and then took the metal key off the pole that came with the hatch. Perfect job. 2 in 1 key and pull down for the ladder.

Easy to unlock and lock.

It is a decent piece of kit and the only thing we can find that opens these loft hatches. However, it VERY expensive for what it is.

Pole works well. Triangle key one end to open hatch, hook the other to pull down ladder. Does the job

Ridiculously overpriced at nearly £40....but you have to buy it if you want to open the hatch as it has the metal fitting on the end to twist open the latch. I bought an aluminium hatch ladder from Toolstation fot £89.99p which is very good which comes with a pole to pull down the ladder...this is made from exactly the same material and is longer...so basically you are paying £40 for a small metal fitting on the end of the pole.
