The "SP2" is a budget steel push-up 60-minute fire rated loft access hatch with a smooth simplistic design.
The loft access trap is finished with a powder coat onto zintec steel for a smooth white maintenance free surface. The loft hatch requires no painting and the frame fits flush to the ceiling.
Once the loft door is open, it has a very large clear opening of 712mm x 520mm to assist with storing bulky items, such as suitcases into the loft space.
The loft hatch lid is insulated with a substantial 100mm of fire resistant mineral slab to comply with the current building regulations of 0.35 "U" value.
The SP2 loft hatch is draught sealed between the frame and lid to virtually eliminate warm air leakage. It also reduces cold air and vapour leaking in from the loft.
The white colour of the loft hatch is RAL No. 9010 with 20% gloss.
The ceiling cut out (trim) size for the loft hatch is 755mm x 555mm.

Strictly compliant to the following regulations:
1 hour fire test to UKAS standards.
Exceeds Part "L" of the thermal building regulations to 0.35 "U" value.
NHBC compliant for attic doors, including 520mm clear opening in any direction.
The loft hatch is UKAS air infiltration tested without the need for extra sealant to the external frame and ceiling.
In addition:
The ceiling hatch insulation is CFC & HCFC free, ODP (ozone depletion) zero and compliant to Eco Homes standards of a GWP (global warming potential) rating of zero.
The SP2 loft access trap box packaging is made from 100% recycled cardboard and 100% recyclable.
Please note the SP2 cannot be used with our loft ladders.

A great, lightweight, metal loft hatch. Well designed with a lip on the frame, so ceiling can be plastered and painted before you fit the hatch - so no unsightly plaster fractures and decorating issues associated with flush fitting frames. It comes pre-painted, so ready to install. Take note of the fitting instructions not to over-tighten the frame screws, otherwise it will buckle and not open/close properly. Super quick delivery, well packaged (don’t forget to look for your key taped to the polystyrene packaging!). Easy and quick to order and great customer service and delivery communications from the Jupiter Blue team. I will happily recommend to others, as will my builders who fitted it. Excellent product & straightforward to fit

Ordered a number of these, which are good value and straight forward to fit. Would be nice if the hatch was detachable from the frame as this would make it a doddle. As it is it a bit awkward, I used two clamps either side to hold it in place whilst I fixed it into position.
