Make accessing your loft easy with this semi-automatic loft hatch. The hatch is fitted with an electric motor, which is operated by remote control. A simple press of a button opens and closes the hatch. All you have to do is unfold and re-fold the attached ladder. For your protection, an in-built safety system constantly monitors the hatch during opening and closing in order to stop the motor should abnormal resistance be detected. The electric loft hatch also has a battery back up so it can be opened in the event of a power cut. All ladders come with timber handrails (except for the 560mm wide model which has metal handrails).
. Please note this ladder requires a 3 pin 240V electric socket to be situated within 1 metre of the intended opening. Please arrange for a qualified electrician to install a socket in your loft prior to fitting the hatch as power is required during installation.
Hand made in Ireland using high quality materials:
The ladder is made from southern yellow pine sourced from managed forests in North America, this is the same timber used in the construction of timber frame houses. We use SAPS grade timber which is a hard wearing timber with minimal knots or defects. The ladder treads are located into grooves in the stiles (the upright parts of the ladder), the treads are glued before being clamped and nailed. The result is a robust, sturdy ladder. The inner and outer frame of the Stira stairs are made from White Deal sourced from managed forests in Northern Europe. This is another strong reliable construction grade timber.
The Stira folding attic stairs features a substantial outer frame which is 108mm x 32mm, this deep frame gives the Stira a solid attachment to the joists in the attic. The outer frames importance is often overlooked but it is essential as this frame will be carrying the weight of the stairs through the hinges and linkage arms, which are the main load bearing parts of any folding stairs or loft ladder.
The inner frame of the semi auto loft ladder links the outer frame with the ladder, this provides the Stira loft ladders with their structural integrity and strength. The inner frame is exclusive to Stira only. As we don’t attach the ladder directly to the trapdoor this permits the standard lid of the Stira to be replaced with an alternative lid of the customers choice.

Our couriers have had to make some changes in order to protect you, and their staff, while also dealing with exceptionally high demand. As a result the following changes apply:
Parcelforce Worldwide Update - Coronavirus (COVID-19) Public Health England (PHE) has advised that people receiving parcels are not at risk of contracting the coronavirus (COVID-19). From experience with other coronaviruses, we know that these types of viruses don’t survive long on objects, such as letters or parcels. This complements the highly publicised guidance from PHE for people to wash their hands more often than usual using soap and hot water.
In order to protect both our people and customers as much as possible, we will not be handing over our hand-held devices to customers to capture electronic signatures. Our drivers will instead log the first and last name of the person accepting the item and we will record the geolocation of the delivery. This will apply to all deliveries that normally require a signature.
If recipients are unable to come to the door or are self-isolating, we will post a customer contact card in the normal way, advising of other ways the recipient can arrange to get their item. For example, by getting a friend or family member (who is not resident with someone who is self-isolating) to collect the parcel from their local Parcelforce depot or Post Office branch, as specified on the card. They will need to bring along the card we left and a form of ID in the name of the person the item is addressed to. Examples of suitable ID are specified on the card.
Due to the current situation, there are significant impacts on our ability to maintain all our usual service levels. We will continue offering our services, receiving and delivering parcels for our customers but there may be disruptions to some services under current conditions. As a result, we will be suspending service guarantees from 18 March 2020 but will seek to ensure ‘all reasonable endeavours’ to maintain service levels where we can.
