Flat Glass Powered Access Hatch

An electrically powered opening roof access hatch with PVC-U kerb and extruded aluminium frame which houses the glazed unit. The flat glass captures natural daylight and offers a more contemporary aesthetic over domed polycarbonate access hatches. For installation on flat roofs on all modern building types.

Glazing

Double glazed glass panel which includes a soft coat Low E coating, comprising 6mm toughened glass outer with a laminated inner pane. The cavity is 90% argon filled, the inner pane also includes a PVB interlayer. Tested to be non-fragile to CWCT TN-67 (for class 1 roofs). and class B non-fragile to ACR[M]001. The glass unit is housed in an extruded aluminium frame which is powder-coated in grey RAL9016.

Kerb

Extruded multi-wall PVC-U profile finished in white. The kerb has two notable design features which makes fitting easier and faster. The tapered feet remove the need for timber fillets to provide a gentle radius for the roof membrane. The kerb is also fitted with an integral clip at a height of 300mm to hold the roof membrane and provide a neat, uniform finish for all roofing types.

Opening & electrical

Powered by a 24v actuator which opens to 77° or 93° depending on the size. An optional 230V AC to 24V DC transformer and rocker switch are available. Optional wind and rain sensors can be fitted in order to automatically close the hatch should the weather change.

Security

The kerb is secured with self-drilling fixings which are concealed with colour matched caps. The actuators can only be operated from the inside and have a locking force of 4kN (equivalent to a weight in excess of 400kg).

Roof applications

Suitable for use on roofs with pitches between 2-15°. Please note a minimum pitch of 2° is required to prevent water ponding on the flat glass, this can lead to an accelerated build up of dirt.
