The BFFD-AT is a high-specification Air-Tested Fire-Rated Metal Access Panel, engineered to deliver fire rated access with a top level airtightness performance with a more discreet finish.
Dual Performance Certification:
• Fire Rating: Independently tested and certified to 1 Hour Fire Rated to BS EN 1634-1 & 1364-2 in both wall and ceiling applications.• Air Tightness: Compliant with stringent air permeability testing, the BFFD-AT ensures essential air-tightness, directly addressing the requirements of Building Regulations Part L (Conservation of Fuel and Power).
Material & Build Specification:
• Construction: Fabricated from durable, corrosion-resistant Zintec steel, integrated with a specialised fire-board infill and a continuous, high-performance sealing system.• Finish: Supplied with a highly durable RAL 9010 satin white polyester powder coating for a robust and professional finish.
• Locking: Fitted with a robust, secure budget lock as standard, suitable for frequent access and designed to compress the air-tight seal effectively.

A solid loft hatch, made of good material, doesn't feel cheap. I found it very difficult to find a loft hatch which: A. had a metal opening lock (opening one was plastic and wore down over the years) B. was big enough and C. was well insulated and conforms to building regs. The one thing that dod slightly bother me was that the insulation is uncovered, it would be great just to wrap it in plastic or something to prevent my ladder rubbing up against it and causing glass fibre to shed. An option for an integrated ladder would have been stellar too but we made do

The hatch looks sleek and minimal, and is simple to install. The only downside is the exposed insulation, but at least that is apparent when purchasing the product. Rapid delivery, and good value in comparison to similar products.

Arrived quickly and simple to fit although the dimensions were not as given - mm out but enough to have to adjust the size of the opening, which was a minor inconvenience. Other than that seems of good quality and cdertainly less draughty than the one we replaced.

Excellent Service, the hatch is of a good quality Would definitely recommend this company and I would certainly buy from them again if I needed another hatch. Just a small point it would have been good to have a certificate confirming the fire resistance hatch in guaranteed for up to an hour as specified as I could keep this with all my property and NHBC records as our property is only 12 months old.
