Outer dome is manufactured from 3mm impact resistant Marlon FSX Longlife polycarbonate sheet which has a UV Protective coating on both sides. This coating stabilises the product to avoid discolouration and weakening due to exposure to sunlight. Where double and triple glazed domes are being used, the inner domes are manufactured from 2mm thick impact resistant Marlon FSX longlife polycarbonate sheet. Polycarbonate is has an impact strength 200 times greater than glass which makes breakage very difficult.
The kerb is manufactured from insulated Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) with a gloss gel coat layer to the inside. This gives a smooth, maintenance free surface with excellent reflective properties.
