Sizing

This product is fire tested to a maximum internal size of 1100 x 620mm. Please note the overall size will be + 200mm  over this size on both dimensions. When ordering please enter the internal size required to fit over your existing meter housing. Please note the door depth is 25mm and is included within the overall depth of the product.

Door

The door is fitted with a spring pin hinge allowing you to easily remove it when fitting, saving you time and money by making it much easier to fit than similar products with non removable doors. In addition it gives the flexibility to hinge the door on the right or the left hand side. The door is secured by two quarter turn locks. Budget lock (opened with 8mm square drive key) or Tamper Proof lock insert for additional security. Both lock options are supplied with the appropriate key.

Fitting

When installing fire-rated utility meter over boxes, it's essential to apply a continuous 10mm bead of intumescent sealant to the back edge of the overbox. Screw fix through the pre-drilled fixing holes within the inner frame.

Product overview

Fire-rated electricity meter over boxes are designed to provide fire protection for meters inside buildings. These boxes are typically wall mounted and enclose the utility meters in order to prevent the spread of fire.

The primary purpose of our fire-rated electricity meter over box is to maintain the integrity of fire-rated walls or barriers where utility meters are located. In the event of a fire, these boxes help contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to other areas of the building through the meter openings.

Fire-rated electricity meter over boxes are constructed using fire-resistant zintec steel. This specification of overbox has been independently tested and certified to meet 1 hour fire resistance against test standard EN 1634-1+A1:2018. The fire resistance rating indicates the amount of time the box can withstand exposure to fire before allowing the passage of flames or excessive heat.

Cancellations:- Any stock item which is cancelled after having been dispatched, but before you have received it will be subject to a minimum fee of £25.00 + VAT for parcels and a minimum of £70 + VAT for pallets. Bespoke (made to measure) orders cannot be cancelled once ordered.

Returns:
You can return a standard product (most access panels, loft hatches, accessories and Steel / Aluminium Roof Hatches) within 14 days of receipt. Roof domes, Roof Lights, Glazed Roof Hatches and AOV Smoke Vents will be subject to a collection restocking fee.
