Insulated Electricity Meter Boxes for buildings with external insulation

The UK has the oldest housing stock in Europe. The fitting of external insulation is an increasingly popular way of reducing carbon emissions from older housing stock. Other advantages including the interior building space remaining unchanged and the work can being carried out with the properties remaining occupied.

Adding external insulation presents some challenges, namely around structural openings and thermal bridging. This is a particular consideration for access into non-standard size openings such as where an electricity meter is located in a wall cavity.
